Defence in depth

A significant part of any secure system is 'Defence in depth'. This means that you do not rely on any one particular technology or technique for your security. For example, even if you have a professionally monitored firewall in place you should still have personal firewalls on each PC or workstation, such as ZoneAlarm from www.zonelabs.com . If you have anti-virus software installed on your email server you should also run it on your PC's or workstations.
